The #59 McLaren pairing of Shaun Balfe and Adam Smalley finished the 3-hour British GT race at Donington Park in eighth place overall, after serving their success penalty from winning last time out. Eighth overall was first in the Silver-Am class though so that’s another win in the bag for the championship leaders!
Shaun said: “There was so much going on out there today. The conditions were changing so quickly that it became a huge mental challenge. Considering we had a big penalty to serve here, I’m chuffed with the result!”
In the #77 McLaren, Morgan Tillbrook and Marcus Clutton put up a valiant fight, taking a strong fourth place overall after starting from sixth position.
Marcus said: “We had good pace today and made good progress throughout the weekend. Crucially we will go to the next round at Spa with no penalties so I look forward to seeing how we go there.”
