HART RACING ENGINES
Hart 420R 2.0-litre racing engine
Garage 59 manufactures the Hart 420R, in partnership with Race Engine Design. Created by the late, great Brian Hart, the Hart 420R was the first engine to carry the Hart name alone. The twin-cam, four cylinder, 2.0-litre Hart 420R F2 engine was a great success, taking many race victories before winning the European F2 Championship in 1980 with the Toleman team.
Garage 59 is delighted to now offer a completely remanufactured 420R engine, bringing this iconic powerplant back to life some four decades later.
All components are made from scratch, using modern production methods to ensure accuracy and consistency. This also means that during standard servicing any parts required should be available from stock.
The Hart 420R was originally fitted to many different cars over a number of race seasons but Garage 59 has the expertise to work with its customers on their particular requirements.
Garage 59 is proud to be building an engine with a glittering past, raced by great names such as Keke Rosberg, Derek Warwick, Derek Daly, Danny Sullivan, Eddie Cheever, Bobby Rahal and Stefan Johansson.
